  • The Glen of Aherlow is stunning .. no other way to describe it and if you are lucky with the weather you will be rewarded with beautiful vistas across to the Galtees. There are a variety of lowland and hill walks in the area and the Ballinacourty Loop on Slievenamuck in the Glen of Aherlow offers a rewarding lowland walk with stunning views of the Galtee Mountains. Starting near the Christ the King statue above the village of Lisvernane, the 10 km trail follows forest tracks and quiet lanes, weaving through peaceful woodland and open hillsides. The waymarked route is moderate in difficulty, with some steady climbs, but is accessible to most walkers with reasonable fitness. Aherlow’s charm shines through on this scenic and well-maintained loop.
